Souper Sunday

Yeah, two posts in one day…but I just made some kick-butt soup and I thought I would share the recipe since it was ridiculously easy, and oooooh so good.

1 hambone with ham on it.

20 cups of water (+more as it cooks off)

2 small onions diced

1 box of green giant honey glazed carrots

1 box green giant creamed spinach

bag of beans for 15 bean soup

sea salt and fresh pepper to taste

Put the hambone, onion and water in a soup pot and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer. Open bag of beans and rinse thoroughly, add to pot, bring to boil and then reduce to simmer for 3-5 hours.  Check and add water as necessary. About an hour before serving, open the packages of carrots and spinach, add to soup and stir. Simmer 1 hour more, season with sea salt and fresh cracked pepper to taste. Yum!

  1. I came to get your soup recipe, but the only kind of soup I just can’t eat is ham and bean. Unfortunately, it’s just about the only soup that Lee likes. Glad you enjoyed it! And, I love this background.
